Why I Prefer Canva

Recently, a friend and I got in a friendly argument about whether Canva or Powerpoint was better. The two sides are similar to Wix vs Wordpress. We decided to write a post about which was better. This is going to be a 2-part series (2nd post's date tbd).

Canva

To be honest, I loved Powerpoint a lot before I discovered Canva. I imagine that due to the popularity of Powerpoint, it is often seen as the clear winner. Although I do agree that Powerpoint is obviously more popular, Canva is also a strong design tool, it is stronger than Powerpoint if you use it to its full potential.

Canva's most obvious pro is that it provides more flexibility than Powerpoint. Those who first see Canva will be surprised at its amount of templates designed by professionals. Canva is often used as a design tool for more professional or experienced users. The learning curve from using templates to creating your own design is quite steep but it provides design classes such as colour theory and branding a business. Powerpoint does not provide these classes. Unlike Powerpoint, it provides a series of images that are not copyrighted, this is another pro.

Canva allows you to design on something other than a landscape page and can be adapted to create Wattpad covers, cards, posters, infographics and more. Canva allows you to create animations and GIFs, unlike Powerpoint. Powerpoint only provides you with a landscape page. Canva picks out colours from the images and elements you use for you to create a colour scheme. This leads to our next point, elements. Powerpoint does not provide you with pictures and elements unlike Canva and you have to find them from Google or some other source, some which may be copyrighted. Despite Canva being such a flexible tool, the full potential is only unleashed when using Canva Pro, which is rather expensive.

In conclusion, I believe that Canva and Powerpoint are both quite effective designers. I personally prefer Canva to Powerpoint. #canva #powerpoint #versus Thank you for checking this post out!
